The consultation is seeking your views

Options for the proposed "site allocations" : These are possible development sites for new homes and jobs and other uses to meet targets set by the Core Strategy.  Sites are shown in individual Settlement Appendices in the Document. The Council's "preferred sites" are highlighted to show those it thinks are the most sustainable. You can also view the sites on an Interactive Map.

Any sites you think we may have missed : We have completed a comprehensive survey of the entire Borough but if you wish to put forward any other sites as suitable for new homes and jobs please use the online response form in Annex 1 of the Document.

Existing and proposed environmental designations : We have identified the following environmental sites which we think should receive additional consideration. You can view these sites on an Interactive Map. Information on each of the four designations is given in Chapter 4 of the Document and on the following web pages:

• Local wildlife sites
• Regionally important geological sites
• Conservation areas
• Green infrastructure corridors

Suggestions for development management policies

These detailed policies will be used to decide planning applications and help implement the site allocations.  At this stage only suggestions for possible types of polices has been included - see Chapter 5 of the Document.

A key task in deciding where and when new development should take place is to consider the potential impact of the Site Allocations on the Green Belt (as defined in National Planning Policy Guidance 2 (PPG2) by undertaking a Green Belt Review. A separate fact sheet is available to show how this has been undertaken as part of LDF preparation.

A fact sheet which sets out the need to release land within the Green Belt at Bassingthorpe Farm for development has also been prepared. These and other fact sheets are also available in our downloads section.
