Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham Local Authorities are currently collaborating to review current models of delivery with a view to reshaping and recommissioning Connexions services. Contracts will be awarded to successful service providers by 1st April 2009. Following a lead-in period of 6 months, full service delivery will commence 1st October 2009.

The 3 Authorities have agreed a timetable for procurement, which meets the requirements of EU Procurement directives, and this is broadly as follows:
Invitations to Tender advertised July 08
Pre-Qualification Questionnaires returned to Authority September 08
Invitations to Tender issued October 08
Tenders evaluated February 09
New contracts awarded in March 09
Successful providers commence delivery October 09
