Mega Active Summer camp at Wales Recreation Ground

Cost: £8 for week or £2.50 per day

Mega Active is back for a fun packed summer of sports and activities to keep the kids active this summer!

Ages 5 years to 14 years (children must be aged 5 years on the day)

Wales Recreation Ground; Kiveton Park, Sheffield S26 6QJ

Sport Activities include: Athletics, Basketball, Cricket, Dodgeball, Hockey, Football, Kangoo Jump, Tag Rugby, Tennis, Tri Golf and many more.

What to bring Checklist:

  • Packed Lunch & plenty of drinks and water bottle 
  • Suitable footwear e.g. Trainers 
  • Suitable clothing for weather e.g. waterproofs. 
  • Sun cream & Hat 

Booking is essential as places cannot be guaranteed on the day.

Bookings close for this camp on Friday 11th at 12noon.

Full refunds are available if cancelled 7 days prior to the camp starting.

Please book early and ensure you get a reply from the Active Rotherham team to ensure your place as you may be disappointed just turning up on the day.

Do you love where you live? Want to help keep your area tidy and meet new friends?

Come along and help the local community clean up the area in readiness for next weekend's village event - all welcome.

Meet up at 9:30am by the bridge over the brook in the centre of Whiston Village.

Picking equipment provided - please wear suitable clothing and footwear.

Superhero Fun Day

Kapow! Come and fly away as one of your favourite superheroes - Batman or Wonder Woman!

Visitors can have a great day out at beautiful Thrybergh Country Park when it is transformed into a superhero training centre on Sunday 25 June.

From 11am to 4pm, Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, Iron Man and Wonder Woman will take time out from their busy crime fighting schedules to help you find your inner powers. here are activities for all ages and everyone is encouraged to dress up and get ready for lots of super fun.

Bam! Become Spider-Man by having a go on the climbing wall. Whoosh! Be a speedboat Daredevil on the reservoir. Pow! Have a go at Ironman sports. Zap! Crawl around Batman’s caves. Zowie! Be Green Arrow on his Archery Range.

You can also meet local heroes from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, the Rotherham Fostering team and wildlife protection groups among others, who will all have stalls on the day. he fun doesn’t stop there. You can also take part in a wildlife treasure hunt, explore a vintage bus, watch our children’s entertainer, make your own pottery, get your face painted, and take a stroll around the reservoir.

The event is free to enter, however there is a charge for car parking at Thrybergh Country Park and some activities, such as face painting, may also have a small charge.
