In 2 Athletics

In 2 Athletics is basic athletics training for children to learn Agility, Balance and Co-ordination (ABCs) and all the Run, Jumps and Throws (RJTs).

Our 'Hit the Ground Running' sessions combine track and field work with indoor 'sports hall' athletics.

We follow England Athletics guidelines delivering Athletics 365 programme, which provides athletes with a well rounded introduction into athletics. This is endorsed by Toni Minichello, Jessica Ennis-Hill’s coach.

The sessions are held at Rotherham Leisure Complex in the main sports hall (Courts one to three) during the winter from October Half term to Easter.

This event is suitable for children aged five to twelve years old.

No need to book, just turn up on the day.

These sessions run term time only. There are no sessions during the school holidays.

Man of Steel Heritage Trail

Join one of our guided walks to discover more about the Heart of Steel and Man of Steel.

This guided talk and tour of Rotherham's famous Heart and Man of Steel explores the historic meanings and connections behind the sculptures which have become a part of Rotherham's proud heritage.

Meet the guide at the Heart of Steel in the Minster Gardens in Rotherham town centre at the starting time and then take a short walk to Clifton Park Museum to view the Man of Steel exhibition. Enjoy lunch in the Granary cafe if you wish before re-joining the guide on a return walk back to the Minster Gardens.

Each walk will take about 20-25 minutes and is suitable for wheelchairs. The walk is free and booking is not required.
