What does the Learning Disability Service do?
The Learning Disability Service in Rotherham is provided jointly by Rotherham Primary Care Trust and Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council through a Partnership Agreement, in line with the Government’s White Paper, Valuing People, and Health Act Flexibilities.
The service is for people aged 18 and over, who have a moderate or severe learning disability and their carers. The aim of the service is to make sure Valuing People happens and that 4 key points lie at the heart of all our services – Choice, Inclusion, Rights and Independence – and to enable adults with a learning disability to live a fulfilling life in the community of their choice.
The Learning Disability Service reports to the Learning Disability Partnership Board, where all members of the above partnerships are represented.
