Free removal for Rotherham residents' unwanted vehicles

To reduce the number of dumped vehicles, Streetpride can arrange for the removal and the proper disposal of unwanted vehicles for Rotherham residents at no charge.

This new move by the authority has been in response to the alarming increase over recent years in the number of vehicles being abandoned across the Rotherham area. Each year the council receives over 2,400 reports about cars and vans that local residents believe to have been abandoned. Many of these vehicles end up being vandalised or burnt out, creating both an environmental nuisance and a threat to public safety.

Although providing this service to residents will involve the authority in some costs, it will also save money from the reduced number of reports of abandoned vehicles that have to be investigated. There will also be real benefits to the environment, with fewer vehicles being vandalised and burnt out.

"Vehicles" includes cars, motorbikes, small vans, trailers, small boats and caravans.

How does it work?

 Contact us to request removal of an unwanted vehicle.

Vehicle details will be taken, i.e. make, model, colour, registration number and location, along with your personal details. You will also be asked to call into Bailey House in Rotherham town centre, to produce evidence of ownership of the vehicle such as the log book, a second form of identification and to complete a voluntary surrender form.

Alternatively, you can complete and return the  Voluntary Surrender Form (103 Kb) along with the log book and identification.
