The service we provide
There are over 400 dog-waste bins provided throughout the borough. They are emptied regularly by Streetpride's cleansing team.
Streetpride's Enviro-Crime wardens can issue on the spot fixed penalty fines to irresponsible dog owners who do not clear up after their dogs have fouled on the highway.
Approximately 4 tonnes of dog faeces are produced in Rotherham every day. Faeces contain bacteria and parasites, such as Toxocara Canis which can cause blindness in children.
The service you can expect
- Removal of dog fouling on highway areas within 1 working day of notification.
- We aim to empty a dog-waste bin which is overflowing on the highway within 4 hours of notification on working days.
The service we achieve
- 53 fixed penalty fines were issued to dog owners for dog fouling offences between April 2007 and March 2008.
- Last year, there were 463 requests for removal of dog fouling, with 86.9% removed within 1 working days.
