The Service You Can Expect
At the early stage of scheme preparation, all the residents in the immediate area are given the opportunity to speak to, or meet with the scheme designer through Streetpride's "Engineers on Street Corners" consultation project. This ensures that any local concerns are taken into account.
Residents are kept updated with the timetable for the work. When the works are completed, residents are invited to comment on our performance in undertaking the scheme.
The Service We Achieve
The condition of Rotherham's road and footway network is measured by a series of government defined performance indicators. These show that:
- Rotherham's A class roads are above average in condition, compared to other English authorities.
- Other classified roads in Rotherham are also above the average of English authorities.
- Our unclassified roads are in the top 25% of English authorities.
However, our most heavily used footways have not improved in general condition and as measured are in the lowest 25% of all authorities. To begin to address this, additional investment is planned over the next 2 years.
