If you are a person who cares about the area you live in and you would be willing to take the time to do something about it, you will make a good Streetpride Champion. How much time is entirely up to you.
We will give you:-
- The chance to make a real difference in your community
- Streetpride News Sheet, Mailings and briefing from Streetpride Managers to keep you informed of environmental issues
- Pre-paid report cards/envelopes and reimbursement of phone calls
- Eyes and Ears crime and environment Awareness Training (through South Yorkshire Police and Streetpride Environmental Wardens)
You will be able to be involved in keeping an eye on your local area and reporting issues affecting your Street scene, such as
- Potholes
- Graffiti and Vandalism
- Weeds
- Fly tipping and Litter
- Dog fouling
- Overhanging trees/hedges
- Street lights out
- Abandoned vehicles
It is proposed that most Streetpride Champions will report problems and attend meetings but some more active volunteers may wish to be involved in initiatives such as:-
- Community walkabouts to identify improvements to the street environment
- Consultation for street improvements
- Community clear ups involving residents, Streetpride staff and voluntary groups.
