The aim is 'To provide advice and guidance on statutory consumer rights so that disputes between businesses and their customers can be fairly resolved.'
This involves:
- Issuing guidance leaflets on a wide range of consumer issues.
- Help for consumers to resolve their own disputes.
- Advice to businesses on what their responsibilities are.
- Education of all, through initiatives to increase awareness of rights.
- Guidance on small claims and County Court procedure.
