All consumer product areas including toys, electrical goods, fireworks and nursery goods
Inspection of products on sale.
Sampling and testing.
Action to discourage supplies of certain goods to children, such as cigarettes, fireworks and lighter fuel.
Investigation of complaints.
Seizure or suspension of unsafe goods from sale.
Advice to businesses on safety laws and standards.
Controls on safety of hired goods or goods in rented property.
Action to stop the supply of unroadworthy vehicles.
Licences being issued to businesses selling poisons and second hand goods with site safety checks being made.
Participation in promotional campaigns to reduce injuries or health problems.
