Highways Development Control

The Highway Development Control team is part of the Transportation Unit. The team gives advice on development proposals and planning applications to secure highway safety, improvements and sustainable means of access.

As part of the development process, we secure improvements to the transportation network and ensure that new developments are designed and built to proper standards.

Highway Adoptions

Prospectively adoptable new roads are approved under planning legislation. The design principles and standards of construction should reflect the policies of the Council in its capacity of Highway Authority.
