We're making it as easy as we can for everyone to recycle more of their household waste. Every household in Rotherham will get a Blue Box to use for recycling. The Blue Boxes will get collected on the same day as your wheeled bin, but every other week.
In your Blue Box, you can put:
glass bottles and jars
aluminium and steel cans and foil
textiles such as clothing and curtains
shoes (provided they're still wearable)
In your Blue Bags, you can put:
newspapers, magazines and catalogues
junk mail and similar types of paper
Unfortunately we can't yet recycle plastic, because the cost of cleaning, sorting and transporting it works out much higher than its value.
