Using your Blue Box for metal cans
With Rotherham's new Blue Box recycling system, it's now much easier to recycle your metal food cans and foil. You can put into the Blue Box:
- aluminium drinks cans
- steel food cans (or 'tins' - they're all steel)
- aluminium wrapping foil (or 'tin foil')
- aluminium packaging such as pie cases
- Please rinse everything to remove food residues, and squash the aluminium cans so they take up less space. (Wash and Squash!)
Also, please DON'T put into the Blue Box any other kind of cans such as paint containers, or any other metal objects - they Cannot be recycled through this scheme
