Blue Bag Recycling Scheme

The Blue Bag Waste Paper Collection Scheme serves over 99% of households in Rotherham. Collection day is the same as for refuse, but every other week.

Blue Box Recycling Scheme

As part of the Council's commitment to increasing the amount of household waste recycled in Rotherham, the Blue Box scheme now covers the majority of households including rural and multi occupancy accommodation. The Blue Box can be used for collecting glass bottles and jars, aluminium and steel food and drinks cans and textiles for recycling. This service collects on the same day as the Blue Bag scheme.

Green Bins

Approximately 51,000 households also have a green bin on the alternate week collection scheme for garden waste. The material collected will go to a local farm for composting. The dark green wheeled bins are the same size as the black wheeled bin for refuse, and they will be collected on the same day as refuse bins, but every other week.
