The purpose of the Council's Regeneration Plan is to set out a long-term strategy for Rotherham MBC's contribution to the social, economic and environmental regeneration of the Borough, in support of the Community Strategy.
The product of much debate and consultation, the Plan provides a rationale, framework and focus for the Council's regeneration activities. It identifies a small number of strategic regeneration priorities that the Council intends to work towards, together with the critical projects and actions that have to succeed if these strategic priorities are to be achieved.
It sets out the Council's initial thinking. We recognise that it is not just about the Council. Its successful delivery requires the help of a wide and diverse range of bodies and organisations throughout the process. We place great emphasis on aligning the Plan and its priority actions with other key plans, strategies and actions, to maximise their collective impact and effectiveness.

Regeneration Plan Review, February 2006
RMBC's first Regeneration Plan was published in 2004. It covers the period 2004 to 2007 and introduces a range of measures to improve quality of life in the borough.
This review measures progress so far and updates the Regeneration Plan in the context of the new Community Strategy, Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy and other recent changes. It will ensure that the Regeneration Plan can serve to the end of 2007.
