Mike Haywood was born in Bramley, near Rotherham in 1934. Over the years he contributed poems and sketches for the BBC radio programme, Northern Drift; he had short articles and reviews published in several literary magazines and trade union publications; his poetry was also recorded for the Yorkshire Arts Association.
