Mary Foster's Pension Plan This document is from the archive collection of the Ravenfield Hall estate, which is part of the Parker Rhodes, Solicitors collection (ref no. 63-B). It is an agreement between Mary Foster, a farmer's elderly widow from Ravenfield, and her son, Thomas. Under the agreement she assigned Thomas her share of her late husband's goods for £15 and leased the family farm to him for £7 per year, with various conditions attached. Mary may have wanted to hand over the farm to her son, while ensuring she was provided for in her old age. Image, Transcript and History of Mary Foster's Pension Plan (483 Kb)
