Police Supervision Register

This document is from the archive collection of the Rotherham police (ref no. 15-C). It is a record of the supervision of ex-convicts who lived in the Rotherham area and who were required to report to the constabulary on a regular basis. This is the entry for William Henry Augustus, who had previously served a sentence for burglary.

He became known to the Rotherham Constabulary on January 17 1909 when he was arrested for ‘wandering’, or vagrancy with begging, and was remanded in custody for 5 days.
