Recipe Book Including a Recipe for Rotherham Sauce

This recipe book is part of the archive collection of H. Davy Exors, Chemists (ref no. 85-B). It includes recipes for veterinary items including sheep dip, medicines, perfumes, wine and household items as well as Rotherham Sauce.

The book is very well worn and could well have been used in Mr Davy's Chemist shops, the first of which opened at 19 Bridgegate in 1840. He also had a shop in the High Street, Rotherham and a chemist works at Masbrough.
