Family Learning

Family Learning gives

Opportunities for parents, carers and children to participate in activities that foster self-esteem, increase confidence and raise awareness of the use of literacy, numeracy and ICT in everyday life.

Family learning is offered across the borough in schools and other community venues. There is something for everyone from formal, accredited courses to short, fun workshops on specific activities. Many adults have progressed on to other courses, jobs and volunteering placements, supported with information and guidance on their individual needs. Family learning is delivered by experienced teachers and adult tutors, who provide positive and practical experiences to encourage learning to become part of everyone's life and to enable individuals of any age to become active learners.

The Rotherham Family Learning Network is working to support individuals, share best practice and to promote the opportunities available. Family Learning aims to ensure each participant has a positive experience and wants to continue to learn for themselves as role models for their children.

Family Learning offers …
High quality, fun and interesting, Local activities linked to skills for learning, Parenting and everyday life.
