There are a number of council officers who can help you in this important role, supporting Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), including Environmental Education and citizenship in schools across the borough.
Environmental Education/ESD is linked into the National Curriculum and provides numerous opportunities to meet targets in a variety of subject areas notably English, Maths, Science, Geography, History, Music and Art, as well as Citizenship/PSHE.
Looking after our environment now and in the future is an important issue. Environmental education in schools can help young people to understand and become involved in protecting the environment and contribute to a more sustainable future in Rotherham. It can also improve attainment in all areas of the curriculum.
