Learning Support Service

The Learning Support Service (LSS) is a team of teachers and support staff employed by Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council. All the staff have a lot of experience working with children and young peaple with special educational needs.

The LSS is committed to the inclusion of all children in their local school. We provide support to Early Years settings, Primary and Comprehsive Schools.We work with all mainstream schools to help them meet the learning needs of all children. This means we work with:

children
teachers
parents
Teaching Assistants
parents and carers
other services, such as Health and Social Services.

The Learning Support Service works particularly with children with specific learning difficulties such as:

dyslexia
autistic spectrum disorder
Down's Syndrome

We also deliver training for teachers, Teaching Assistants,parents and pupils.
