Overview
There is now a clear vision in Rotherham for all 14-19 learners. Our commitment to ‘Better Learning Better Life’ is at the heart of our vision. Collaborative working between all partner providers, including schools, is proving successful in driving up the range of high quality opportunities available to our students. This strategy makes clear what partners need to do to further strengthen the breadth and quality or our curriculum offer and ensure that ‘All of Us Matter in Rotherham’.
Achieving the Vision
To raise and support the aspirations of all young people by delivering high quality learning opportunities which also contribute to the prosperity of Rotherham.
Our Vision will be realised through the following goals for learners:
• To raise the achievement and attainment of all young people and increase participation in post-16 learning, including higher education
• To meet the needs, and raise aspirations of, all young people so that they are motivated to make a commitment to lifelong learning and to become socially responsible citizens, family members and employees through enhanced self-esteem
• To broaden the skills acquired by all young people to improve their employability, bridge the skills gap identified by employers and overcome social exclusion
• Ensure learning is delivered through flexible, integrated and innovative networks of collaborative providers committed to achieving ambitious new goals for all young people in the 14-19 phase of their lives and their learning.
