Overview
Learning Services is one of ten Services working within the Children & Young Peoples Directorate. The main responsibilities for the Service are: to raise standards and; ensure and develop the quality of education in schools. However, the Council has a wider brief relating to Lifelong Learning and the Learning Service also contributes to the strategic development of this wider agenda for early years provision, post 16 education and community learning.
Learning Services has five aspects to its work. These are: the Early Years and Childcare Service; Governor Development Service; Rockingham Professional Development Centre, Education Psychology Service and the School Improvement Service. Each team is supported by administrative and clerical staff.
Achieving the Vision
The key to achieving this vision is to invest in the children and young people of Rotherham and to strive to ensure that all children realise their potential, achieve at their highest level and have high aspirations that enable them to make a positive contribution to society and secure their economic well-being.
