School Improvement Service

The role of the School Improvement Service is to support and challenge schools, their communities and the local authority to achieve the highest standards possible and provide the highest quality of education for the people of Rotherham .

The aim of the Service is to offer the best possible advice and support to Elected Members, the Executive Director of Education, Culture and Leisure Services, headteachers, teachers, governors and parents on matters concerned with:

• raising standards

• improving the quality of teaching and learning

• improving the quality of leadership and management.

In order to support the development of:

• high quality leadership and management

• high quality teaching

• successful and enjoyable learning experiences for pupils

• effective management in schools

• efficient use of resources

• equality of opportunity for all

to ensure that all Rotherham schools are autonomous, self-improving schools and that no school is identified through OFSTED inspection as a school of concern.
