Where We Stand - Rotherham Children's Anthology

Rotherham Libraries - in partnership with the Schools Effectiveness Service - are inviting children and young people (5-18 years old) to enter their poetry or prose for publication in an anthology this summer. The anthology will celebrate the best writing by Rotherham's young people and will be printed to mark this year's Children's Book Festival (28th June - 6th July).

The anthology will feature endorsements by Poet laureate Andrew Motion, Ian McMillian, Gervase Phinn and Berlie Doherty.

The themes of the Anthology are:

Here, There and Everywhere (Reflecting a sense of place)
Writing focussed on where you are in the world and how you relate to it. Celebrating identity, home and family.

Tomorrow, Some Time, Never (Reflecting a sense of time)
Writing focussed on past experiences, present joys or worries and future hopes and expectations.

You, Me and Them (Reflecting a sense of self)
Writing focussed on who you are, who you’d like to be, your experiences, your friends and enemies.

Prose entries should be approximately 300 words or less. Poems should be up to 30 lines in length.

To enter please print off the entry form and hand it in to your local library:
