Grants for Local Arts and Community Groups

Are you having difficulty getting your arts project off the ground? Rotherham MBC has a new annual programme of grants for communities and artists to work together on arts projects.

The grants are for up to £800 and applications are sought for projects planned for the coming year.

The grants are for projects which encourage participation in the arts by local people. This can be any type of arts project - music, drama, performance, creative writing, painting, murals, mosaics, ceramics, sculpture or new media. Priority will be given to projects developed in partnership with artists.

The Community or Arts Group involved in the project will have to apply. The Community Arts Team will help you with your application, and help you apply to other sources of funds too, such as the Arts Council England.

The scheme opens January 7th of each year for grants to be made in the next Financial Year - that is, from April onwards. The deadline for applications is 28th February of each year.

For more information and an application form, contact the Community Arts Service on 01709 823636 or email community.arts@rotherham.gov.uk or download from here:
