Gain experience and work towards a coaching qualification!

Sports Development hold a database of casual sports coaches and instructors who can assist in providing activities across the borough.  Your role would include supporting holiday provision, special events and sports coaches leading the activities.

You would also have an opportunity to work in the local commuity at sports centres, parks, green spaces and schools.

Volunteering

Sports Development provides opportunities for people to volunteer their time and in return gain experience of working in the community with fully trained coaches delivering a wide range of events and activities.

There are also many other ways to get involved in sport within the Rotherham area. Whether it be in a coaching role, an officiating role, support with statistical match analysis, website design, club or event organisation.

If you would like to volunteer at a clubs, or if you would like to promote volunteer opportunities available in your club or organisation, then please contact Sport Development on 01709 822452.

Scholarship Programme

At the Herringhtorpe Sports Village we are currently recruiting for a coaching sponsorship programme that will be running from July to September 2008. 

Applicants must be over 16 years of age and be commited to the programme by volunteering a minimum of 20 hours over a 10 week period in return for a fully funded level 1 National Governing Body Award. Places are limited.
