                                                                                                       New Tenancy Agreement

Important information

Your Council Tenancy Agreement will change on the 5th January, 2009.

On 28th November, 2008 tenants started to receive a notice of variation formally advising them of the changes. This notice was wrongly dated the ‘28 november 2009’.

Please be aware this was a typing error and should have stated 28 november 2008.

We apologise for this mistake and any confusion caused.

 Your Tenancy agreement is changing…

In partnership with 2010 Rotherham Ltd, Rotherham Borough Council is changing its tenancy agreement. This is to ensure the document is up to date, reflects all changes in legislation and clearly states the rights and responsibilities of both tenant and landlord.

Following a comprehensive 12 week customer cosnultation period a new tenancy agreement has now been drafted by our design studio.

The consultation included:-

  • Various Customer road shows held throughout the borough
  • Attendance at Rotherham Show
  • A special event with sign language interpreter for hearing impaired customers
  • Meetings with front line staff and Managers
  • Publications in the Rotherham Advertiser
  • Councillor Workshop
  • Presentation at Council Member seminar
  • Attendance at Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods and Sustainable Communities Scrutiny Panel

We have explained the clauses in your tenancy agreement in an additional Customer Handbook supplement.
