Find Planning Applications

NB: Access to archived Planning Applications documents (1998-March 2007) has been suspended pending a review of the situation in relation to personal information which can be viewed within these documents.

All applications from April 2007, including all current applications, are still available to view via this site .

This measure does not affect searches for Planning Histories on MapSearch or access to the majority of Planning Decision Notices issued since 1947.

There are several ways you can access Planning Information:

1. If you require information about a Planning Application and you know the Reference Number (NB Please remember to type 4 characters after the oblique - EG RB2008/0001, RB2008/0012, RB2008/0123, RB2008/1234):

Planning Reference Search:

Provides access to:

Planning Applications linked to scanned documents, drawings and Decision Notices.

2. If you know the Postal Address or PostCode (or can find the property on a map):

Planning Information Map Search:

Provides access to:

• Planning Applications linked to Scanned Documents/Drawings and Decision Notices
• Tree Preservation Orders
• Listed Buildings linked to English Heritage Photos and Information
• Enforcements
• Conservation Areas

NB.The Map Search is as complete as possible based on the Planning Application boundaries captured to date ie:-
100% of all Applications received since 01/04/2001
100% of Applications Granted Conditionally since 01/08/1977
80% of all Applications received since 1947.

3. If you want to Register your Address for automatic Email Alerts:

Planning Application Email Alert Facility:

Submit your contact details and receive an email when a Planning Application is submitted (or a Decision is issued) within 200m of your property

Planning Application information submitted to the Council is protected by the Copyright Acts (Section 47, 1988 Act). You may only use the material which is downloaded and/or printed for consultation purposes, to compare current applications with previous schemes and to check whether developments have been completed in accordance with approved plans. Further copies must not be made without the prior permission of the copyright owner. Where Ordnance Survey map extracts are included with/on plans and drawings, they are subject to Crown copyright.

Limitations

Under normal circumstances, new planning application information will be available for viewing within 5 working days of receipt of a valid application.
