Local Development Framework The new Local Development Framework introduced to replace the old Unitary Development Plan, is required to involve local stakeholders and communities at an early stage in the development plan-making process.
In preparing this Framework there should be an ongoing process of working with partners and other stakeholders and communities to build consensus on the main principles of the development plan. In developing proposals for reform of the planning system, the Government wanted to give communities more influence over the plans for their areas and to ensure that participation takes place earlier - before decisions are finalised. This means that early engagement with communities is vital.More information about progress in preparing Rotherham’s Local Development Framework is available on the forward planning home page.
