The new arrangements for the preparation of the 
Local Development Framework require the Council to prepare an Annual Monitoring Report to chart progress in preparing the LDF and detail how to gauge the effectiveness of new policies supporting Rotherham's development to 2021.
This report sets out some initial broad principles to be adopted in devising new monitoring arrangements as well as a basic selection of indicators and targets to be used in assessing performance and contributions to sustainable development.
The Council recognises the importance of engaging interested parties in the new Local Development Framework process and would welcome views about the content of the Annual Monitoring Report and how it might evolve in subsequent years.
