 Local Development Scheme

The Local Development Scheme sets out a programme for preparing Local Development Documents.

The LDS was initially approved by Cabinet on 9 February 2005 and was formally submitted to the Government Office for Yorkshire and the Humber on 11 February 2005. The Council subsequently received a letter from the Government Office confirming non-intervention by the Secretary of State.

On 9 March 2005, the Council's Cabinet, Under Regulation 11(1) of the Town and Country Planning (Local Development)(England) Regulations 2004, resolved that the Local Development Scheme would come into force on 11 March 2005. Progress in achieving the milestones in the preparation of the documents together with proposals to amend the LDS were reported in the subsequent Annual Monitoring Reports published in December 2005 and December 2006 and the more recent LDS updates in March 2006 and March 2007.
