Joint Strategic Waste Development Plan Document

Consultation 3rd Nov - 12th Dec 2008

Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham councils are producing a Joint Strategic Waste Development Plan Document (referred to as 'The Plan').

Originally, the scope of The Plan was restricted to identifying suitable sites for large scale waste treatment facilities. However, as a result of the consultation comments, the scope has been widened to include both a wider range of waste types and also policies for smaller facilities.

We have now produced a consultation document which sets out the emerging policy approach and identifies a reduced list of potential sites. The document also explains the process for producing The Plan and how previous comments have been taken on board.  It is available for viewing in libraries and Customer Service Centres across the borough.
