Local Development Frameworks (LDFs) will help to streamline the local planning process and promote a proactive, positive approach to managing development. The key aims of the new system are:
- Flexibility
- Strengthening community and stakeholder involvement
- Front loading of key decisions
- Sustainability appraisal
- Programme management
- Soundness - is it fit for purpose?
Above all, the Government intends that the new system of local development frameworks will speed up the plan making the process and be more transparent to the members of the public.
Rotherham's LDF will be a portfolio of local development documents, some of which may be prepared together or in sequence over different timescales (as set out in the
Local Development Scheme). The LDF will make significant contributions to delivering sustainable development through its land use proposals and spatial strategy.
Please use the links menu to the left of this page to view information on the various parts of the LDF. As new documents are produced they will appear here so please check back regularly to keep up to date on our progress.
