Interim Planning Statement
The Rotherham Town Centre Strategic Development Framework. originally prepared in 2005 as part of Yorkshire Forward’s Renaissance Towns initiative, set out a masterplan for Rotherham town centre building on a broad 25 year vision and the 10 goals identified by the Town Team.
An update of this document has been produced which:
- Help guide development in and around Rotherham town centre, including where new houses, industry, shops and other leisure facilities could be built in the future.
- Provide detailed guidance for individual sites and areas of change, highlighting future aspirations, setting out the uses which may be acceptable and establishing design and development principles.
- Will inform work on the Local Development Framework Core Strategy and Site Allocations documents.
The updated document has been adopted as an Interim Planning Statement and will be taken into account when deciding planning applications.
