    Licence - Zoos and Performing Animals

    No person shall keep a zoo except under the authority of a licence granted in accordance with the provisions of the Zoo Licensing Act 1981.


    If you wish to keep a zoo within the Borough of Rotherham you must first give two months notice in writing of your intention to keep a zoo before you make application to the Authority.

    You must also publish notice of your intention to keep a zoo in one local newspaper circulating in the locality and one newspaper with a national circulation and exhibit a copy of that notice at the site of the proposed zoo premises.
