Coroner (Work Related Accident)
If the work related accident is a fatal one,
officers will liaise with the Police and the Coroner's
Officers in accordance with 'Work-related Deaths - a
protocol for liaison', published by the Health &
Safety Executive. |

Where there is a suspicion that a serious criminal
offence, other than a health and safety offence, may have
caused the death the Police will lead the investigation.
Where it becomes apparent this is not the case the
investigation will be taken over by the appropriate health
& Safety enforcing authority.
