Best Value Reviews
The duty to carry out fundamental Best Value Reviews, linked to the Council's priorities for improvement.
Best Value Reviews must address the following criteria:
Challenge why and how a service is being provided
Compare the service with better performing organisations
Consult with the citizens of Rotherham, service users and the wider business community on how the service can be improved
Embrace fair competition as the means of securing efficient and effective services.
To date the Audit Commission have inspected six of the Council's Best Value Reviews:
- Architectural services
- Sports & leisure
- Waste management
- Car park management
- Rotherham Managing Agency
- Repairs & maintenance
Best Value Performance Plans
The Council has a duty to publish an annual Best Value Performance Plan (BVPP) which reports performance and sets targets against national and local performance indicators and provides detailed outcomes from Best Value Reviews.
