Policy, Research and Consultation

The Policy and Research Team provides corporate policy, research, consultation and community involvement functions for the Council. This includes:

• Developing the Corporate Policy Framework, for example by developing and aligning policy to the priorities of the Local Strategic Partnership and the Council, and providing policy briefings, parliamentary and legislation analysis and policy reviews with the Council

• Providing support to the LSP in relation to the Community Strategy and Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy, and lead on the development and delivery of cross-cutting policy agendas (such as social inclusion, sustainable development and community involvement)

• Providing overall responsibility for the strategic development of consultation, community involvement and research, including Rotherham Reachout, the Borough’s Citizen’s Panel.

• Provide expert advice and guidance to Members, senior officers and partner agencies on specified areas of policy, research, consultation and community involvement.
