    Consultation and Community Involvement (CCI)

Consultation and community involvement is at the heart of the Council's approach to policy making and delivering services.

The terms consultation and community involvement are often used inter-changeably. Both aim to involve communities in decision making which influences Council prioritisation, investment, service planning, service delivery and evaluation.

Essentially consultation and community involvement is a way of involving people, to a greater or lesser degree, in decisions that affect their lives. We use a wide variety of methods to do this, such as surveys, focus groups, seminars, accessing existing groups and networks. The department's role is to support and enable these processes both within the Council and for its partners.
