Business Support Unit Career Grade Scheme
EDS Business
This is a new career grade scheme that enables Business Support team members to progress from Scale 1 to PO1. It's currently open for scales 1 to 6 and will support you in gaining a range of valuable skills, through job rotation and nationally accredited training.
Jointly developed by EDS management, the EDS Business Support Unit, the Council's Human Resources Section and Unison, the scheme will bridge any skills or experience gaps you may have when applying for your next career move.
People taking part keep a comprehensive record of their reviews, achievements, developmental needs, progress assessments and skill level and this is valid for both NVQ and annual formal assessments. In other words it's your passport to promotion!
The scheme is, of course, entirely voluntary, but if you're career minded it would be well worth your while to take part.
