We are committed to developing our employees so they have all the necessary skills and knowledge to be able to do their job effectively. We also want our employees to have the chance to develop within their chosen career and actively support personal development.
As a Council employee you are entitled to a Performance and Development Review (PDR) once a year. You will also have a mid year review and regular one to one sessions with your manager. The PDR gives you the employee, the opportunity to discuss with your manager what is expected of you in terms of work targets, how you are performing against the employee competencies and what learning and development you may need or want for the forthcoming year.
There is a wide variety of learning and development opportunities open to employees from recognised external qualifications, in house courses, coaching from others, shadowing colleagues, job rotation within your section, secondments both within the Council and with other organisations and the list goes on.
