Pay and Expenses

Details of your wage / salary are set out in your statement of terms and conditions. Basic pay consists of a point or a range of points on the Local Government Services Pay Spine or the Local Extended Principal Officer Pay Spine.

Did you know?

  • The Council’s lowest rate of adult pay is significantly higher than the adult statutory minimum wage set by Government
  • Annual pay awards are paid after negotiations between national representatives of Employers and Trade Unions
  • The Council has a job evaluation scheme to ensure equal pay and fairness in the Council grading structure
  • Jobs which are eligible for paid overtime, either midweek or at weekends receive pay enhancements
  • When absent due to sickness up to a maximum of six months is paid at full pay with a possible further six months at half pay (subject to length of service and rules of the Occupational Sick Pay Scheme)
  • Relocation expenses may be payable for new appointees who move into the Rotherham area
  • For those authorised to undertake duties requiring travel, then public transport costs will be reimbursed or car mileage rates paid
  • Reasonable meal expenses will be reimbursed on production of receipts for agreed expenses incurred while on Council business.
