Employee Commitments - HEART

We are committed to ‘excellence is service delivery’. Feedback told us that to do this and work together as ‘One-Council’ we must have one set of values that underpin the work we do.

Our values are called the HEART employee commitments. They are very important to us as they highlight the behaviour you can expect to receive from others and that you should give to colleagues and business partners.

To develop the HEART commitments we talked to employees and managers about culture and values. These colleagues played a major role in developing HEART and continue to do so - by displaying behaviours that are consistent with the values everyone can make sure HEART becomes part of the Council’s culture.

HEART stands for:

Empower through open, clear communication
Appreciate and respect each other and our customers
Recognise and acknowledge contributions
Try new ideas and approaches
