Stay safe stay warm
If you have concerns about staying warm in winter, or worries over a neighbour, read the following Top Tips for staying warm and saving money.
- Have one room you keep at a warm temperature (21°C) and turn radiators down lower in rooms you don't use often.
- Wear plenty of thin layers of clothes.
- Turn thermostats down to 5°C when you go away - to prevent pipes bursting.
- Move furniture away from radiators and tuck curtains behind.
- Have regular hot drinks and food, and at least one hot meal a day.
- Wear socks, thermal underwear and a headscarf in bed.
