Moving in to your new home

The time has finally arrived! We've helped you through the moving in process and you've been given the keys to your new home. It's an exciting time, but also a daunting one. We're here to offer you some helpful tips and advice to make the transition into setting into your new home easier.

Your Tenancy Agreement: A legal agreement between you and your landlord (Rotherham Borough Council). Everything you need to know about your obligations as a tenant and what we agree to do as your landlord.

Rotherham Furniture Solutions: If you are moving into a Council house and need help with furniture and setting up your new home then Rotherham Furniture Solutions is just what you need.

The Moving in standard: A standard about how we check and prepare your new home. Make sure your home is let to you in the condition we promise.

The Houseproud Standard: Chosen by Council tenants, the minimum condition to which all our homes should be let to customers.

Who to contact and inform: When you move house, the list of people to inform can seem enormous. Here, we've prepared a list of organisations and people that you may wish to contact.

The houseproud bucket: A little welcoming gift... You've stepped through the door of your new home, and already you can't find the items you need in the dozens of boxes you have to unpack. Don't worry, we always leave a welcome gift in every home of new tenants. This contains useful items such as washing up liquid and energy saving lightbulbs.

Keeping you and your home safe: Rotherham is a safe place to live, but taking some simple precautions will help to ensure you feel safe and secure in your new home.

Connecting to Gas, Water & Electricity: All you need to know.
