Rotherham Furniture Solutions

Further Information

Will the furniture I receive be new?

We spend a large amount of money each year on buying new furniture. However items may be recycled and provided to you as good as new.

How flexible is the scheme?

At any time you can upgrade or downgrade your furniture package between the furniture bands to suite your circumstances and the charge
will be adjusted accordingly.

After two years you will have the option to:

  • Continue to participate within the scheme. You will retain the
furniture and the furniture charge will remain in place
  • Return all the furnished items and the furnished charge will be removed making your tenancy unfurnished.

What do I do if the furniture becomes worn or needs replacing?

You should get in touch with us if you have a problem with any item that has been provided. We will arrange for it to be checked and if necessary repair or replace it.

If I move home what happens to the furniture?

If you terminate your tenancy the furnished items provided must be left in the property. We will arrange an exit inventory with you. You will be charged if you take with you or have damaged any of the items provided.

However, if you move to another Council tenancy with our permission you can take the items with you. Your new tenancy will be a furnished tenancy and the furnished charge applied to the rent account.
