We are Transforming Rotherham Learning and everyone in the borough can play a role to help improve learning for all ages.
There's a whole range of projects underway to achieve this including Building Schools for the Future (BSF), the national project to rebuild or refurbish every secondary school in the country over a 15 year period.
We are initially receiving funding to rebuild five secondary schools and to co-locate one special school in Maltby.
- Aston
- Maltby (and Hilltop School)
- Oakwood
- St Pius
- Swinton
We are also using the Primary Capital Programme to create one new primary school (Maltby Hall Infant/Lilly Hall Junior).
What is BSF?
Building Schools for the Future (BSF) is a programme of investment which will transform the secondary school and special school provision in Rotherham.
It is a national programme of investment which will see every secondary school renewed, remodelled or refurbished over a 15 year period.
It is also the vehicle which will drive Transforming Rotherham Learning (TRL). Providing the investment and infrastructure to enable all pupils to achieve.
The programme is split into phases 1, 2 and 3. BSF funding has been secured for phase 1 schools and construction is due to start on those schools in 2011.
BSF Phase 1 Schools
The phase 1 schools should see construction start in 2011, with an anticipated completion date in 2013. All the schools will benefit from significant new build, providing learning spaces and facilities that will truly transform learning in Rotherham.
